According to the comments posted at quora.com, it depends on that particular Netspend card's policy. SSI is paid/deposited on the 1st of the month unless the 1st falls on a weekend or federal holiday, in which case it is paid/deposited the business day before.

- by logging into your Netspend account. Select 'My Account' - 'My Prepaid Cards'.
It usually takes approximately 7 to 10 business days to receive the Netspend card. When your card arrives, activate it. Follow the printed activation and identity verification steps that are on the materials that arrive with your card.
