Netspend - A bad company!!!!!
I have had about 5 netspend cards. Recently I deposited money in WalMart on my latest NetSpend card. I went home and tried to use it for an online purchase. I figured that this would be a safe way to buy on line and not have to give any of your vital info.
The card would not work so I called NetSpend. They told me that they have restricted my card until I prove who I am and where I live and give them a copy of my original social security card.
I am 62 years old and I have not seen my original social security card in almost 50 years. I sent then a slightly redacted copy of a W2 that had my social security number on it and they will not honor this.
I told them they should have never allowed me to add more funds on a restricted card. I asked at least 5 times to speak to a supervisor and got a total run around.
Netspend refuses to remove the restriction on the card and they will not refund my money. At this point I believe that they are a bunch of thieves. I am holding my breath as I file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the department of consumer affairs and any other government agency I can think of.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $45.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Location: Lake Worth, Florida
